Is soy milk actually as nutritious as dairy milk? +
Per 100ml, TempeWala soy milk has 3.5g protein — essentially the same as cow's milk (3.4g). The difference is what comes with it: our soy milk has 70% less saturated fat, zero cholesterol, zero hormones, and zero antibiotics. The protein is complete — all essential amino acids present. Dairy gets the headlines; soy milk gets the better numbers.
What's the actual difference between Cotton and Silken Tofu? +
Cotton Tofu is firm, press-friendly, and made for high heat — grill it, fry it, cube it into curries. It absorbs marinades and holds its shape under heat. Silken Tofu is custard-soft, never press it, never fry it at high heat. It belongs in blenders, desserts, dressings, and anywhere you want a creamy texture without dairy. Two completely different products that share a name — don't treat them the same way.
Can I really use Soy Curd exactly like regular dahi? +
Yes — raita, kadhi, lassi, marination, boondi. It sets the same way, has the same thick consistency, and the tang behaves identically in cooking. The only thing to remember: live cultures die above 45°C, so if you want the probiotic benefit, add it off the heat. For cooked dishes where you just want the flavour and texture, heat away.
Does your soy milk taste beany? +
No. The beany taste in commercial soy milk comes from oxidised soybean lipoxygenase enzymes — produced when soybeans are ground raw. We heat-treat before grinding, which deactivates those enzymes before they can produce the beany compound. The result is clean, naturally sweet, and nothing like the packaged stuff you may have tried before.
How long does each product last after opening? +
All products are refrigerated (2–4°C). After opening: Soy Milk — 4 days. Cotton & Silken Tofu — submerge in cold water, change daily, lasts 5–7 days. Soy Curd — 5 days, consume straight from the container. No preservatives means shorter shelf life — that's the feature, not a bug.
Is everything here safe for lactose-intolerant people? +
